We are thrilled to welcome Peter Murphy as the new Executive Director of the Australian Rugby Foundation. Peter has had an extensive sporting and professional background – with a striped career representing Australia in rowing. Peter rowed at six world rowing championships (1989, 90,91,93,94 & 95) and two Olympic Games (1992 and 1996).
He retired from rowing after narrowly missing selection in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Team. Upon retirement, Peter has worked at the Australian Olympic Committee and Fiji Rugby.
After 8.5 years as the Executive Director of the Shore Foundation he comes to the Foundation with an outstanding blend of sport and philanthropic experience.
Under Peter’s leadership, we will redouble our efforts around our key funding areas of supporting our national teams, grassroots rugby, indigenous, women's and player welfare.
2017 is a World Cup year for women's rugby and we at the Foundation are already engaged in efforts to support the Wallaroos on their pathway to Dublin with a wide range of donors and supporters contributing funds to support the team.
