We are dedicated to encouraging more females to get involved with the game – whether it’s as a player, a coach, an administrator, a referee or at the executive level.
As well as supporting women at the grassroots level, we throw our support behind the elite teams including the Aon University Sevens, the Australian Women’s Sevens and the Buildcorp Wallaroos.
The Aon University Sevens has just wrapped up a successful second season with ten teams competing from across the country. The series combines up-and-coming players with our Australian Women’s Sevens and provides as a pathway to the national team.
The Australian Women’s Sevens team inspired a new generation of players after winning gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Since then the team has gone on to win a number of tournaments including the 2017/18 HSBC World Sevens Series. The ARF is committed to supporting them throughout each tournament and provides critical services to help them recover faster and train harder.
The Buildcorp Wallaroos celebrated a historic moment in 2018 when taking on New Zealand on home soil for the first time ahead of the Bledisloe Cup. The team now has their sights set on winning the 2021 Women’s World Cup and we will be here to support them each step of the way.
