Community Rugby is the heart and soul of our game. We are here to help rugby communities expand and welcome more people through their doors.
To help communities prosper, we have worked with the Australian Sports Foundation to create a fundraising toolkit which has been tailored to suit each State.
The toolkit offers top tips, strategies and case studies to help members executive a successful fundraising campaign. You can download the toolkit here.
National School’s Strategy
We are passionate about giving every school student the opportunity to play Rugby.
We support the National Schools Strategy which offers schools Australia-wide the chance to roll out our three main programs; Get into Rugby, Foxtel Touch 7s and Sevens.
In 2018 partnership with Rugby Australia we funded a new schools program in Caboolture, Queensland called the ’Super 6s’. The competition ran for six weeks, included six schools and engaged 130 students in the game.
The program provided funding for coach & referee accreditation, coach mentoring, uniforms, equipment, travel provisions and first aid support throughout the games.
The competition format will be rolled out in a further four Queensland locations and three NSW locations.
Try Time Campaign
Over the course of the 2018 season, we pledged to raise awareness and funding to reinvest into community programs. Each time an Australian 7s ($500/try), Wallaby & Wallaroo ($5,000/try) scored a try at a domestic match the we reinvested funds into community coach development as well as funding Classic Wallaby clinics around the country. We were thrilled to announce that we raised $95,500 throughout the season.
Off the back of a successful 2018, campaign, Try Time returned in 2019 for the HSBC Sydney 7s with Pacific Smiles Dental partnering with us.
Every time an Australian mens or womens 7s player scored a try, Pacific Smiles Dental donated $500 into community programs. We are excited to announce that at the end of the tournament 39 tries were scored totally $19,500. Thank you Pacific Smiles Dental.
